Having orchestrated their own transitions in 2020, Christa and Scott have worked to uncover the research, tools, funding, support, and shared practices available for the complex practice of social sector leadership succession. Leadership transition feels like such a taboo subject that many Founders and Long-Term CEOs fear that alerting and involving others to a possible leadership change will be destabilizing. Christa and Scott are looking to change that narrative, ensuring that leadership transition can be a transformative process.

Without support, many end up reinventing the wheel. In the silence and isolation that can accompany this process, it’s easy to blend personal identity with the organization, making it even harder to let go while ensuring the mission lives on.

The Leadership Transition Community (LTC) exists to change that. We’re building a supportive, resource-rich network of social sector Founders and Long-Term CEOs who can lean on each other through this deeply personal and strategic journey.
